Our upcoming retreat to Marbella in Santa Teresa, Costa Rica, January 31-February 6, with Christine Chen, sounds like it’s going to be a ton of fun!

Bienvenidos a Santa Teresa, Costa Rica!
Duration: 7 days/6 nights
DAY 1 – BIENVENIDOS A PARAISO (Jan. 31)
Arrive at Tambor airport by 1pm. Private transportation will greet you and take you to the villa, where you’ll enjoy fresh juice and smoothies to celebrate your arrival. Gather for a pre-cocktail Happy-Go-Yoga travel detox practice to get your mind and body back on track after your journey. Then, stay for the Soul Rituals Opening Ceremony so we can come together as a community for our week of wellness.
A welcome dinner will follow yoga; get to know your fellow travelers and the Paraiso team a little more! Enjoy the area’s weekly Sunday beach party to mingle with the locals, relax, and watch the sunset while absorbing the sounds of the jungle and waves.
DAY 2 – FREE IN PARADISE (Feb. 1)
Settling into paradise, invigorate yourself with a Morning Express-O yoga practice and spark your appetite for the light, fresh and flavorful organic breakfast that awaits you. After breakfast, discover your Ayurvedic dosha and create a custom, healing essential oil blend you’ll use the rest of the week.
The rest of this day is free for you to explore, indulge in spa treatments, or simply relax on the beach or at the pool. At low tide, you might join the group and explore the tide pools with mask and snorkels. Fresh meals will be available at the villa. The Paraiso team will be available to answer questions, so if there are any more optional add-ons on your list, today is the day to ask. Just before sunset cocktails, stroll to the beach for yoga: Sunset Salutations in the sand.
DAY 3 – WATER PLAY (Feb. 2)
A watery, second-chakra, hip-opening flow class kicks off the morning, powering you up for day on waves! After yoga, enjoy the delicious breakfast prepared by our chef Lohanna, always the perfect balance of local fruits, traditional Tico cuisine, gallo pinto, and creative varieties of eggs. A yogurt and granola bar is always available with breakfast. You’ll be ready to hit the waves, surfing or stand up paddle boarding to explore balance in a whole new way. To close out the day, soothe your tired muscles and get that yogi glow in a Stretch and Glow yoga class.
DAY 4 – CHILL OUT (Feb. 3)
Wake up with Morning Express-O yoga, then, most of the day is free for you to enjoy. If you’re interested in taking in some food culture, join us for a cool ceviche and salsa preparation class later in the afternoon. These are easy recipes you’ll be able to make back in the city. Today is also a great day to get in some shopping for artisan crafts or playful beach attire. Come down before sunset cocktails for Christine’s specially designed Pool Party Asana – explore yoga as you flow in and out of the pool and chill out, yogi style!
DAY 5 – ZIP INTO THE HEIGHTS (Feb. 4)
No time like today to fly and be free! Fully relaxed and ready for adventure, catch some air in the morning yoga session: Fly Freely & Flow! We’ll flow and workshop those upside down moments, taking your practice to a new level.
Ready to soar higher? Join our afternoon zip line adventure and be prepared for the rush of your life as you glide through the Costa Rican canopy on zip lines. You will see waterfalls and monkeys, as well as have time to enjoy the fresh water and wash some of the salty sand off your body. Lunch will be provided while on the trip. We suggest bringing a daypack for hiking. At the end of the day, a juicy Stretch and Glow session brings you back to earth, featuring a special, grounding group meditation.
DAY 6 – CELEBRATE PARADISE (Feb. 5)
On our last full day in paradise, honor our natural surroundings by starting off with beach yoga: Sun Salutations and Surf Meditations, featuring Happy-Go-Yoga to get each day started, sunny side up! Choose a sunny side up egg for breakfast, but leave room to learn how to make (and sample of course) delicious empanadas in our second and final cooking class. With healthy filling options and gluten-free crust, this is a guilt-free skill you can take home.
After lunch, it’s all about relaxation. Indulge with a massage or a spa treatment but make sure to join us for a closing fiesta after dinner: Bonfire Mantras to seal our week of adventure and enlightenment together.
DAY 7 – PURA VIDA, AMIGOS!
Though you don’t want to leave, it helps to be prepared. A brief and beneficial early morning Happy-Go-Yoga session starts your journey home. Say hasta luego to your new travel companions over a light breakfast full of tropical flavor and protein to keep you full for the long haul. For now, say goodbye to the waves, the monkeys, the tropical forest, and your perfect piece of paradise. Que les vayan muy bien! May you travel well.
